Gino Sarfatti was born in 1912 in Venice, Italy and passed away in 1985 in Italy. He was a lighting designer and industrialist. Sarfatti began studying aeronaval engineering at the University of Genoa in 1930 before the political situations of the time caused him to leave school. He opened Arteluce in 1939, which later became a forum for Italian modern architectural movement and designers. He helped pioneer usage of halogen bulb by designing of the one first halogen table lamps in 1971.
