Ercole Barovier was an Italian entrepreneur and designer born in 1889 Murano, Italy and passed away in 1974. Barovier went to study in Venice to become a doctor, but never finished his studies. After World War I, in 1920, he decided to work with his father, proving to have an incredible talent in glass making. In 1929, he discovered the Primavera technique, a transparent and crackled glass. In 1936, Barovier took over the company.
Barrovier & Toso is an Italian company, founded in 1225 in Murano, Italy. The company is one of the oldest family businesses in the world., original founded as Barrovier. In 1936, the merged with the Toso family’s Fratelli Toso Glassworks. The company is specialized in Venetian glass and lighting.
