There’s a new gallery on the block that’s luring Francophiles from as far away as California. ” Authentic Provence reflects l’art de vivre of Provence,” says Susan Hofherr, who, with her husband, Wolfgang, realized her dream of bringing a piece of her native Provence, France, to West Palm Beach when she opened the gallery this past winter. A sampling of the wares available at the gallery includes hand-spun clay pottery created without the use of molds, hand-painted dinnerware, rosepetal sachets (created by a former Yves St. Laurent designer), and linens in the rustic, earthy tones of the French coutryside. One designer was so enamored of Authentic Provence’s selection of sculpted limestone fireplace mantels and fountains, sundials, urns, and antique garden accesories, she made a special return trip from California to pick up some more. Authentic Provence is located at 522 Clematis Street.
